I don't know if Evgeny mentioned that we had cancelled our contract for (the house) following C-51, but were
later contacted by the Seller to see if we couldn't be enticed to buy it. They came down a bunch, and we
close in January.
In any event, I credit your thorough inspection with demonstrating just how bad it was, and how bad it could
be. This gives us peace of mind that we have a pretty good idea what we are starting with. Also, we received

encroachment is going to be the most problematic item for us and will likely end our contract. We would like
for you to be the inspector of our next home. It makes me wonder if the city even came out and inspected the
different stages of work on the building permits. As I wonder how a nail plate under the house only has one
blasted nail in it- clearly missing the other 5 nail spots- or main support beam just resting on a cinder block
with no binder of any sort to keep it in place? Did the city sign off on such work, if so - how sad, no quality
control. Keep up the good work Wayne.

I just wanted to drop you a note of thanks for your inspection of my
home in Honolulu in May of 2007. Your inspection was an extremely
thorough one. I appreciate your allowing me to watch you through the
entire inspection, as you patiently answered any and all questions
that came to my mind, regarding the house and the items you noted. As
a first time home buyer, this was extremely important to me, giving me
the peace of mind to continue with the process of buying the property.
With your report in hand, and the photos documenting your findings, I
was able to negotiate the repairs be completed prior to closing of the
property. These repairs would have amounted to thousands of dollars,
if I had to pay for them myself. They would, no doubt, have cost me

I've read your article about the contractor theory and I agree with it.
As a Realtor for 35 years and licensed engineering and building contractor for 30 plus years, I call on you for
most of my home inspection because of your thoroughness and your general and special knowledge about
home inspection. You climb into the attic, below the house, and up onto the roof and check everything!! I've

Wayne has done countless inspections for my clients, always with great results. His detailed inspection
report book, with photos, is very valuable to them, especially when they are off-island. But for me, the best
part is his concise Summary, written in plain language. I recently had an experience where my client was
purchasing a $220,000 condominium As-Is, which we knew to be cosmetically dated. It was for his college-
age son to live in with roommates, so the client figured he’d buy a funky-looking place and then remodel a
few years later. Wayne discovered that behind the makeshift built-in cabinets and partial walls put in by a
previous owner, the electrical and plumbing were in dangerous condition, installed unprofessionally. With
my buyer’s permission, I faxed Wayne’s Summary, which was 3 or 4 easy-to-read pages in a calm but
definitive tone, to the seller’s agent, along with my buyer’s request for a $12,000 discount. The seller came
back to us with a $10,000 discount. The buyer was very relieved, and went forward with the sale, knowing
